Parmigiano Reggiano AOP Cheese

Parmigiano Reggiano is of course renowned as a grating cheese, for which it is in a league of its own, but the decadent delight of nibbling on a whole chunk is an experience not to be missed, as the cheese gently melts in the mouth. It is also great in desserts accompanied with fruit such as pears.
This is an aged 36 month version from the small family producer, Bertinelli. At this age the flavours are intense and lingering without being too dry. Only 10 wheels are made each day by the Dairy compared to 1000s at the larger industrial producers. The traditional,hand made production methods and unparalleled quality control procedures result in a cheese whose exceptional quality is immediately obvious.
